 The Junior and Senior infant children are working very hard.

Here are some of the children with their lovely personal timelines that they made!



The children really enjoyed taking part in the body and senses scavenger hunts!




In Science class, the children examined our unique fingerprints using magnifying glasses.





The children in Room 1 love doing Art. Have a look at some of the things they did this month!

The Senior Infants just picked out some carrots and beetroot that continued to grow in our raised beds during the summer months. They were a lovely surprise!

We were given lovely strawberry plants by a parent in September and the children had great fun planting them in our raised beds!




The Junior Infants had lots of fun making some letters in playdough this month!

The children had great fun singing and playing the musical instruments to our Halloween songs!




The children explored how sound travels!

The children had great fun making their chocolate apples. It was a lovely procedural writing exercise too :)




For Maths week, the children played a variety of Maths games including the Maths games that were available for free that week on the Mangahigh website! They enjoyed the different challenges.



We had two new pumpkin friends in our classroom for Halloween. Meet 'Finn' and 'Charger'! The children had great fun cleaning out the pumpkins and carving them out :)

The children are really developing their computer skills and enjoy using them in class.They will be computer whizzes in no time!

November 2021

In November We Remember

The children wrote down their loved ones names that have gone to Heaven. We pray for them everyday in school.

Science Week 7th - 14th of November 2021

The children loved taking part in a variety of science experiments for this week. They made and explored oobleck, made ziplines for lego men, saw ping pong balls hover in the air as well as learn about  refraction and balancing. Have a look at some of the pictures we took during the week!


Making Jelly 

The children loved making jelly! It was a really fun procedural writing activity too. 


Here the pupils are doing some yoga! They are great at those stretches and moves!

We do English and Maths Station teaching and learning every week. Here are some pictures of the children working on developing different Maths skills.

December 2021

Static Electricity Experiments!

The children really enjoyed learning about energy and how electricity is formed. We had great fun doing a variety of static electricity activities.

Santa Cabins/Grottos!

The children had fun building different types of Santa Cabins/ Grottos during Aistear this week. Take a look at what they made from different building materials.

Pinch Pots

The children made lovely pinch pots out of clay and then painted them to make them nice and colourful. They did a lovely job!


Tinfoil and Washable Marker Printing!

The children enjoyed making these colourful creations. Have a look!

Christmas Games and Fun!

Here are the children having some fun together doing different Christmas activities while singing a few Christmas songs of course!

January 2022

Rugby with Tadhg

The children started back playing rugby with Tadhg this month. They are really enjoying all the different games and skills they are learning.

January 6th -The Epiphany

On this day the children learned about The three wise men that went to Bethlehem to see Jesus, the new baby King. We learned about camels and they loved making them also!


Izak 9

Every Friday the children are really enjoying playing different Maths games with the new Izak 9 cubes! They are challenging and fun at the same time covering lots of different areas of the Maths curriculum too.

 Kindness Posters

The children really enjoyed making these lovely kindness posters. They came up with their own definitions of what 'Kindness' means to them and drew and painted pictures of what 'Kindness' looks like. They did a wonderful job!


Chinese New Year Projects

The children also learned about the Chinese New year which is on the same day as St. Brigid's Day this year, the 1st of February! They learned about a variety of Chinese traditions. Have a look at the Chinese paper lanterns they made!

Conductor and Insulator Experiments

The Junior and Senior Infants had fun exploring what materials were better conductors and insulators than others. Here are some pictures of their investigations!


February 2022

St. Brigid's Day

The children enjoyed learning about St. Brigid and made a really good attempt at making St. Brigid's crosses. They only needed a little help from their teachers!


 Waterproof Materials Test

The children tested a variety of materials to see if they were waterproof. They tested cardboard, paper, tinfoil, grease proof paper, plastic and dishcloths. They were surprised with the results!

Walk The Line

The children had fun playing this simple playground game! They had to draw out different lines on the tarmac and their team mates had to jump,skip or hop along the lines created carefully.


March 2022

Pancake Tuesday

The children had some pancakes in school with some of their favourite toppings such as nutella and sugar! It was a yummy treat :)

World Book Day

The children made a super effort to dress up as their favourite book character on March 3rd for World Book Day. Lots of reading and fun activities were enjoyed by all.


Beebots 

We were very lucky to get Beebots (programmable floor robots) from Kildare Education Centre for the children to explore for a few weeks. They got to give the Beebots instructions to follow paths and go in different directions.It was a lot of fun and really helped the children with their mapping skills and directions!

St. Patrick's Day Art Activities

The children made lovely St. Patrick's Day crafts such as badges and shamrock salt paintings!
